Thelma Barlow worked as a secretary in England but soon found her way to the world of entertainment. She starred in the comedy film “Mrs. Henderson Presents” and got nominated for British Independent Film Awards for Most Promising Newcomer.
Barlow then became known as Mavis Wilton in the top-rated soap opera “Coronation Street” and played the character for two decades. She left the show in 1997 and has since written a book or two. These days, though, the British star is no longer in the limelight and living a quiet life.
